Ultrasound Scanning & Fertility Visits

Our vet Conor has a special interest in fertility on dairy farms and has completed a masters’ degree in bovine reproduction. We provide all you need from scanning to fertility treatments to achieve the maximum results in the breeding season.

Herd Health Planning

Our vets have extensive knowledge and training in all aspects of herd health. If you are experiencing problems with mastitis, lameness, calf health or fertility then contact us so we can work together to develop a strategy to improve your herd's production and profitability.

Vaccination Advice

Vaccination is an excellent tool to boost your herd’s health status. Vaccines are available against calf pneumonia, calf scour, clostridial diseases (Blackleg) and to prevent abortions. Vaccines need to be administered in the right way to the right animals at the right intervals to give the best results. Choosing the right vaccination protocol for your herd can be difficult. We are here to discuss your herd’s requirements and to advise you on the best vaccination protocol for your herd.

Blood Testing

Blood samples are very valuable to give important information on how your herd is performing. We routinely collect blood samples for mineral analysis, antibody testing to diagnose the cause of pneumonia outbreaks and port-abortion testing.

Faecal Samples & Dosing Advice

Analysing dung samples is becoming more and more important to guide our choices of worm and fluke dosing. We work closely with an external veterinary laboratory, Paralabs, based in Portumna, Co. Galway ( www.paralabs.ie). They provide an excellent, accurate and rapid faecal analysis service. This allows us to make quick decisions about parasite burdens in your animals and we can tailor a dosing guide that is specific to your farm and your stock.
